Buyer Protection is an optional fee added at checkout, calculated as a small percentage of the order total. It allows a dispute to be opened if something goes wrong with an order, such as receiving a damaged, defective, or incorrect item, or missing items.
Important: Purchasing Buyer Protection does not guarantee a return or refund. It grants you the right to raise a dispute so that the seller and Thesouthmart can investigate the issue and determine a fair outcome.
If there's an issue with an order after the item has been delivered, a dispute can be opened through the account with a description and supporting evidence.
The seller has a limited time to review the dispute and respond. If they don't respond in time, the return is automatically approved.
If a return is approved, the item is returned at no cost — return shipping is covered. The refund is processed to the wallet once the seller confirms the item's condition. If a dispute is declined, it's escalated to our admin team for a final decision.
